Got back from MoCCA last night. That was the first time I ever sat behind a table for two days, trying to get people interested in my work. Usually I would just wander around for the afternoon and chit-chat with a few people, then leave. It was a lot of fun hanging out with Kaz, Randy, Brian, and Peter. I hope they didn’t mind that I am a little awkward and don’t know what to do with myself sometimes. he he.
Anyway I got a shit load of comics to read so I’ll be going through those and not reviewing them on this site. I do however sometimes write about prog records on rateyourmusic.com and movie reviews on netflix, but I wont link to those. That sort of nerdiness is private.
Anyway the real reason I’m writing this is because I read that some people think it’s a good idea for long running webcomics to write occasional plot summaries for new readers. Not sure if I should do that. So if you have an opinion, please send me an email.

I think that’s a great idea- for old readers too. Waiting a week between installments lets the story get pretty mushy in my brain… The way I’ve been treating it is that I’m reading it now for the incredible art and gags, but that I’d have to read it all again as a big chunk to get the story to gel- but maybe I can have it all!
Yeah that’s what I was thinking too. When I read other people’s weekly comics I have a hard time remembering things that have happened previously. So maybe this is something I’ll do every 25 episodes or something. Which also reminds me that I have to update the Atlantean Genealogy page sometime this week.
I would be interested just to see what your official take on the story is. I might have completely the wrong idea what is going on.
I really think reading only one page per day isnt enough to get into it, I like to re-read several oldies to get in the zone first. A big book would be ideal when/if its all finished.
If I were to do a summary it probably would be just to recount key events and not offer up any personal insight into the story. But yeah I wish I could bust these out faster, so people aren’t scratching their heads every week, wondering if they’re forgetting stuff.
I got a plot summary for you so you don’t have to do it.
It’s actually for the movie Ski School (1991) but you can just switch the names and facts around.
“Rival ski instructors at a prestigious mountain school compete to save their jobs. The infamous “Section Eight”, a popular group of skiing partiers are up against some rich stiffs whose only thought is beating their arch rivals in the annual spring pageant.”
So for instance, it should probably read:
“Rival aspects of a cosmic superorganism compete to save their jobs. The infamous “Atlanteans”, a popular group of prelapsarian superbeings are up against some rich stiffs whose only thought is beating their arch rivals in the galactic resource burglary.”
BTW, It would help also if you had a short “origin blurb” explaining how Mithras got his powers and why he fights crime.
Do whatever leaves you with more time to create. Book three was as good than book two, so I ordered book one.
When will this colored serialization find itself in print?
You can buy it from me by the inch, I am currently printing out Forming as a dot matrix banner on-demand as soon as my printer is fixed. Contact me through this forum. Order now as it will only increase in price as the banner gets longer and more cumbersome. Included for free are my personal plot notes written on top of Jesse’s original confusing dialog, as well as a sturdy re-purposed folder.
