I made this light box a few months ago but it’s been sitting in random places doing nothing since. I was using it for mood lighting in the living room for a while. Well today I got all excited and went to Campus Copy Center to buy a ream of paper. Then I set up my animation station (pictured above).
So the idea is I draw 12 frames a day with just a pen. If I animate at 12 frames a second that will give me a minute of animation in two months. In a year I will have a 6 minute piece. Ok that seems pretty unambitious but I just want it to be a laid back project. Maybe some days I’ll do 24 frames. No pressure just slow and steady. No storyboards, just channel the spirits.

What are you using to animate with? Flash, some other software, an ancient 8mm camera?
I think I’ll use a digital camera and then upload images to Adobe Premier.
That should be pretty cool.
That sounds like a great idea. You can really get real awesome stuff done in animation if you really set your mind to it. Check out what my friend Amir recently finished: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YedmwHMUqfE
How’s this going?
It’s one of those things that wont see real results for like two years I think. Depending on how I improve at spending my time as I get older.
Do 12 frames, but when you take the picture of the frame, take two, so the viewer is seeing the same image for two frames. This way you’re doing half the animation, but the human eye isn’t fast enough to notice.
gooooood luck
