No ep this week. I’m visiting my parents in San Diego and I’m dying from getting my wisdom teeth out. 24 hour naps and pounding Ibuprofen.

Dude, been following forming for ages, and its getting to be sooo icecreamishly jodorowskiously mathematical!
Congrats from Brasil!
and, jesse seriously, please make adventure time be forever?
Ep 107: Wherein Ghob’s true intentions are shown to be lacking a clearly defined goal or endpoint.
ghob’s a freaking… cool ass dude
Comic geek talk here, but is Noah’s ascension a tip of the hat to Cerebus’ climb to Sentius Po?
If it is, it’s not on purpose.
Read all the episodes last night. Couldn’t put it down. Love the hyperreal internal logic of it! The gods and their human frailty! The suspense! The adventure!
Ordered Forming Vol. 1 and I’m curious: what episodes are in it?
Vol 1 covers eps 1-69. Comes out to about 104 pages plus some additional drawings and things!
awesome
Just started reading “Forming” last night. Trying to catch up to the current episode crazy quick fast. Great pacing from panel to panel. Congrats on the release of your book. Much success!
D.
Ghob liked everything the way it was before the evil space aliens came to Earth, right? Is he badass enough to pound Rhea? Inquiring minds want to know.
You’re lucky if you can sleep if you’ve got tooth problems. I got a root canal yesterday with your brother’s help. No sleep for days, tunnel vision from the pain. Root canals are kind of awesome.
But wisdom tooth extraction can suck, good luck.
Rheas killing spree was primitive and sort of “natural”. Which might be why Ghob is not bothered. Or perhaps, being king of the gnomes (elemental earth spirits), he only cares about “earth”. As in soil. He doesn’t care about animals. DDT and soil erosion forces him to bring the shit.
this is so great!
Well, she’s destroying nature in a way which benefits nobody. She didn’t kill to feed herself or anyone else, she killed because she was angry and wanted to draw out Ghob. I guess it depends on your definition of natural. As for me, I don’t consider death to be natural at all.
I don’t think Rheas actions are defensible, of course. But I can imagine many reasons why Ghob would have no problems with it. Rhea, unlike Iapetus or Cronus, doesn’t try to bend nature to her will. Sure, she kills a lot of things. But an earthquake could do that just as well.
I guess death, especially violent death, could be considered unnatural in the context of Forming - indtroduced on Earth with the extraterrestrials. But IRL I think most of what goes on in nature only becomes meaningful or understandable in a world where things die. Why spiderwebs, if the spider had no need to catch and eat flies to survive long enough to procreate?
