minotaur dong and nutsack…. jizz
GOD DAMN JIZZ
amazing
so…
magical
Forming has been utterly amazing for like 50 weeks or something.
jizz explosion!!
THOSE COLORS. THAT PERSPECTIVE. Jesse my man. Dang.
Panel 4 remind me of Okkoto from Princess Mononoke
I actually made this comparison in my head while I was thumbing it out. I got nervous about it, but decided I didn’t have another way of approaching Ghob’s story arc. It’s a different concept though, but the surface comparison is definitely there. You will see in the next two episodes where they diverge.
Technicolor rainbow Minotaur jizz reboot.
Sir, I am astounded!
Definite echoes of Mononoke Hime, definitely not a bad thing. Jesse, you take every story and make it your own. Keep fighting the good fight!
ooooo hell yeah. Big red Serapis should fight new Minotaur Ghob.
This isn’t even my final form!
So, shit just got excessively unreal. Can’t wait to learn more about Ghob.
i had a feeling he would be back
i got abilities!
lots of giant superbeings being formed in the forming universe recently
beautiful stuff
Minotaur genitals…beautiful
Antispam: malesch. I didn’t think that was a real word, so I googled it, but what do you know. Music-related, like so many others.
The frist 80 or so episodes of Forming were amazing. But since then, Jesse has given up on world-building and gotten bogged down in plot. Look at what was going on a year ago, around 115. Cain was fighting Nommo/Iapetus. Noah was on his vision quest. Rhea was fighting Ghob. Searpis was wandering in a daze and Adam was looking for him. Michael was hanging out in the outer darkness. In the past year we have not seen a single new character, setting, situation, or conflict. Forming could be the best comic on the web. But you need to stop being a slave to “and then this happens, and then that happens,” and let yourself free to just go rambling around this amazing universe you’ve created.
This, and Jappleack have become my favorite web comics.
This has to be one of my favourite moments since Nommo’s penis was hard and STICKAY…
I have finally ordered my copy of forming vol 1… looking forward to forming vol 2 and to reading the early stuff again in print. Amazing stuff Jesse. Thanks so much for sharing it all for free and the process of making it. Hope you make some money out of it too.
dude, I think this has to do with how slowly the comic updates. If I could do 3 pages a week, you’d see more concepts being introduced at a faster pace. As it is, yes I do believe in telling a story. I’ve introduced a lot of characters and I want to follow their trajectories. I’m not trying to just throw a bunch of shit at the wall. That’s definitely part of it, but not all of it. I want there to be a story and a payoff. The idea for Forming was never going to be an endless parade of characters and scenarios. I wanted to introduce an ensemble cast and watch their stories play out. So we’re approaching the end of the 2nd act. What happens after that may be more interesting than the Rhea/Ghob slugfest, but boy do I love drawing fight scenes! SORRY!
keep up the good work hombre
Yeah,no apologies necessary. One of my greatest fears about FORMING is that Jesse would get so busy with stuff that payed the rent that he wouldn’t be able to tell us how all this stuff ended up. Jesse keeps on resolving issues in ways that are both satisfying and surprising to me. Beyond that, those “resolutions” also have opened up new possibilities for what might happen next. Two (and arguable three) super-beings are now apparently MORE super than they were before (Ghob, Serapis, and arguably Nommo/Iapetus.) Ys has been destroyed, but Atlantis still stands, for the moment. And there are lots of plots lines to come back to.
On top of all that, FORMING is a uniquely cool-looking thing.
I’ve got no complaints. Thanks, Jesse.
I’ve been quietly following Forming since it’s inception, The paradigm in this story resonates so much with me. I love it. I have shown it to some Spanish speaking friend and they’re really interested. ever thought about a translation?
“But since then, Jesse has given up on world-building and gotten bogged down in plot.”
Duh, your kidding right? Once the boundaries of middle earth were established it was all about plot, history and action with a peek into the future. In my humble estimate forming meets or exceeds this criteria of storytelling and then some. I understand your desire for the expansion of the forming universe cause it’s so cool but I’m itching to see how these characters play out. Great Job Jesse. Your world rocks.
@Lost1ooking there was an offer to translate into Spanish I think? Or was it French? I can’t remember. haha. Anyway I think translations are going to wait till all three volumes are done. Maybe.
For the record I’d rather have Jesse being busy making more Adventure Time than busy making more Forming. Nothing against Forming but your AT episodes are some of the freakin’ best!
but, I don’t have cable.
Really: I think FORMING is a master-piece.
anti spam: “gabriel”
Didn’t see Lemuel’s comment before I posted else I would have replied… There’s a definite shift in the pacing of Forming if you re-read from the beginning (as I just have) I was really surprised how quickly I got up to the start of this section. I’m not sure how that could be a bad thing necessarily. A narrative like this that grows as its written doesn’t really have to conform to any structure. That’s what I’ve enjoyed so much about it. Feels kind of organic if that’s not too wanky.
And if that is too wanky, sorry for this: I really like that it’s about Forming and it is Forming and we’re watching it Form. I dunno. I’m a bit high but fuck. It’s very meta. Maybe ready for some resolution of the current mess though
I want to see the series become entirely based on Lucifer being insecure about his looks.
wait did the Ox guy always have a sword in his hand? or is that something that just happened?
unrelated: Anti-Spam = sausage
awsome !
Every time I forget to check on Forming for a few weeks, I return and am more than pleasantly surprised by what I find. Things are getting crazy in Forming-land.
My anti-spam word is “frith,” an Old English word meaning “peace; freedom from molestation, protection; safety, security.” Never heard of it before. The more you know. Stay frith, Jesse.
If the last season of Adventure Time is any indication, I would gladly wait a few more days for an installment of Forming to keep AT going as it is. Somehow, the show has risen in quality over the course of four seasons, and I’m sure Jesse’s involvement has something to do with that.
So yeah, Forming is great, but I know AT is on a schedule set by other people, and I’m willing to wait for quality work.
Frith is also the name of the creator god in Watership Down.
Frith is the last name of the guitarist/improviser Fred Frith, who is most famous for being in the group Henry Cow. My webmaster, Mike made all these anti-spam words, and they’re usually prog rock related. It’s our little inside joke.
