We don&#8217;t have a name for him yet. It immediately evokes this feeling of sci-fi barbarians, so naturally I want to capture that. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile I hope y&#8217;all don&#8217;t mind my occasional oversharing of my Jiu Jitsu obsession. Turns out it&#8217;s just swollen and I need a few days off. So no blood drainage. I put those magnets in my ear for a few days to compress the swelling, but I kept giving people hugs and banging my ear into them which hurt like hell. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to Jiu Jitsu 5 days a week, I&#8217;ve started training Muay Thai once a week, yoga to recover, and now I&#8217;m dating someone who has convinced me to start surfing. So I feel like I&#8217;m getting close to mimicking this guy:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cajJwrZD14A\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The objective of obtaining lots of physical knowledge has become increasingly important to me. I believe this has something to do with reaching my late 30&#8217;s and realizing that this is the time when my body begins deteriorating. A strict cartooning lifestyle in my late 30&#8217;s means that my body will deteriorate much more rapidly, which was evidenced by my gain of 20 or so lbs while working at Cartoon Network for 5 years (thanks for all the cake). I think I topped out at 170 at my worst. I&#8217;m down to around 156 these days. <\/p>\n<p>So now my heart has opened up to a more intensely physical way of life. I&#8217;m convinced that a deep exploration of combat will heavily inform my spiritual and artistic ideas. Especially now since I live a more relaxed lifestyle than my life in Philadelphia 7 years ago &#8211; I have to force myself into new challenges and experiences. Otherwise my creative output will stagnate. I really believe that once you stop having new experiences, you stop having quality ideas.
