Hey here’s an update on my activities. I’ve been storyboarding an original short for Cartoon Network for the past 4 weeks. It’s called Hungy Ghost and it’s loosely based around the Buddhist idea of Hungry Ghosts<\/a> who are sort of victims of their material attachments during life. My version of a Hungry Ghost is more lovable and slightly less tortured but still working with that general theme as a narrative springboard into cartoony zaniness. I’m really trying to make something wacky with fast paced visual gags. We’ll see if I can pull it off. I’m making myself laugh a lot so I think that’s a good sign, or maybe I’m just easily pleased with myself (I guess we’ll find out).
\n\"\"<\/a>It’s not guaranteed that this will get made. I have to pitch the storyboard to the development head honcho in early January, but so far I’ve received a lot of encouragement. So fingers crossed on this one! If it does get the official green light I will let y’all know as soon as I find out.<\/p>\n

Speaking of fingers crossed, I am making big plans with my manager to try and self fund Jesus 2 as either a short film or a full length feature. I’m not ready to talk about how I plan on pulling this off but as soon as I am able, I will talk about it. I do believe it is possible.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Since making that rough animatic I’ve had ideas on how to flesh it out and improve on certain character moments and visual motifs. I’ve also had many daydreams about scenes and character origins. There’s a lot to mine in this world and it would be amazing to try an realize my least commercial idea for the powerful internet audience as well as the animation film circuit.<\/p>\n

This past year and a half has been the most financially unstable I’ve been in over a decade. I actually had to ask my parents for help with rent one month as my bank account completely ran out and the guy who was going to print my tarot cards stole $7000 from me. I’m really lucky to have supportive family and people like yourselves who are championing my work. It was a risky time where I was playing a long game of betting on my ideas to amount to a tangible project. Hungy Ghost is the result of that, which I hope will help assist in the viability of making Jesus 2. I’m starting to believe that feature films are where it’s at for creative freedom and financial independence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
