I&#8217;m not exactly sure where I&#8217;m going with this or what my plan is. My brother and I pitched Manly to HBOMax and they passed on it. It probably was the best pitch we&#8217;ve ever done. I&#8217;m not sure if any mainstream platform will be interested in giving my brother and I a show. I got this new manager recently and he thinks the things I wanna make are coming into favor with these streaming companies but who knows. I&#8217;m trying to keep my mind open to possibility; I could definitely be surprised by some freak thing happening, but in the meantime I&#8217;m feeling drawn to making my own things and not worrying about who will give me permission to do it. Every time something notable has happened in my art life, it&#8217;s because I just made things without begging a gatekeeper, with the exception of getting a Xeric grant back in 2005. Sometimes I get twisted about how certain shows manage to get made but I realize it&#8217;s pretty dumb to think about that. I did have the fantasy of starting a podcast called &#8220;NDA&#8221; where I just talk shit on cartoons and the animation world with my voice modulated (hehe) but that&#8217;s really not what I&#8217;m trying to do with my life. Especially right now where staying positive is priority number one for me.<\/p>\n<p>The one upside of Covid is it has given me plenty of time to experiment with animating. It&#8217;s burning hot outside. There&#8217;s no reason to leave my house. I just stay inside and try to make scenes from this animatic. I&#8217;m also writing more pages of Forming but it&#8217;s incredibly taxing on my imagination. Everything that happens from now on in Forming is extremely critical so I have a lot of pressure to do it &#8220;right&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In less good news I feel my health deteriorating. I&#8217;m having weird reactions to food. I get nauseous after I eat. I have some sort of pain right below my sternum. I don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s going on. I think I&#8217;m seriously stressed out. I&#8217;ve started back up on meditating again: just some basic-ass app meditation but it&#8217;s definitely calming me down at night. I started looking at buying an abandoned house in Italy as a life option. I think living in LA is starting to get to me. It could be a collective upheaval. I definitely get the sense of people being like &#8220;Let&#8217;s get the hell out of here&#8221; but I&#8217;m not exactly sure where I&#8217;d want to go. I kind of want to leave the United States and just go some place where I don&#8217;t really understand the culture, but in a fun way.<\/p>\n<p>On the Tarot front, the printer is replying to my communication REALLY SLOWLY. He emails me back every two weeks. I think he&#8217;s totally slammed and covid is screwing his ability to run his business efficiently. That&#8217;s my guess anyway.
