I shared a rough version of it on instagram, but here&#8217;s basically a full compositing test of a painted background using analog and photoshop techniques. Looking at it now I see how some of the highlights are a little sloppy, and the character&#8217;s head is popping a bit, but overall it&#8217;s a pretty good proof of concept I think! It also looks moodier on my cintiq for some reason. This was hard work. I&#8217;m feeling a little bit of doubt about making this thing myself (pulling a Diliberto heh) without hiring some kind of help in the background and animation department. I may try doing all the key locations and seeing where I can go from there.
