As expected, the viewing only served to enhance my curiosity about Nick&#8217;s production decision making. Why all amateur voice acting (looks like family and a couple friends)? Why all sound effects generated from mouth noises?? There are huge libraries of free to use foley effects available online. Why would he chose to say &#8220;budda budda budda&#8221; for a machine gun instead of getting real sounds? I want to know!<\/p>\n<p>Once again, Nick&#8217;s talents are undeniable. His ability to orchestrate multiple action threads with characters that hold your interest based on really nothing besides their design and physicality is impressive as hell. The organic approach to &#8220;living machinery&#8221; reminded me of Miyazaki&#8217;s <strong>The Wind Rises<\/strong>, except that it was produced by one person and not a huge budgeted production team. There&#8217;s a flying chase scene in Nova Seed that is really worth your time to check out.<\/p>\n<p>The 90&#8217;s EDM is here in full effect. Tinny drum machines and rave synths of the worst variety eat the scenery in unfortunate ways. Nick needs to part with this composer dude he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tv\/CDu6ZSxjgrr\/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet\">STINKS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 80&#8217;s Saturday Morning nostalgia meets indie animation really hits with me. Despite all the production flaws, the basic ass story, and hacky writing, I&#8217;d rather watch this than 95% of the stuffy shorts that get featured at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasanimation.com\/\">Glas<\/a> or most of the other animation festivals that champion low-craft, non-narrative snoozealert films. Nova Seed is kind of like Thundercats meets Rock N Rule with a villain that feels something like Mumm-Ra and Skeletor. <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O37op2fVAPI\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s fun, and in its basic-ness manages to feel personal, unlike this polished turd, this manipulative piece of no-personality no-style garbage called <strong>Kitbull<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AZS5cgybKcI\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A friend named Nick was making fun of this film last night so I watched it today.
