I had kind of given up on Manly after the debacle of getting greenlit for a 16 episode season for VRV, writing the entire season and then getting dropped.\u00a0 But here we are and our producers Frederator are still pushing for it to get made. So the update is this: We recently had a pitch to the Syfy channel that I think went really well. It was probably the best pitch we’ve ever done. Justin and I are not good at pitching. We go off on tangents and often start speaking really seriously to executives about art and mysticism. It usually kinda goes weird and we just hope they end up feeling like “Those boys are strange, they must know how to make cool stuff.” This time we rehearsed our pitch in front of a couple friends and Pen Ward who is the king of pitching in my mind. So I think that made a huge difference in how we structured the pitch.We’ll see.<\/p>\n
We’re also pitching to a new streaming platform called Quibi that has billions of investment moolah being funneled into it, and we’re pitching to Hulu.<\/p>\n
I don’t know how this will all turn out, but I’m giving this pitching stuff to the end of 2019. If it doesn’t pan out, I’m going to try to start my own animation house.<\/p>\n
