Their hands are a tangled maze. Between the man and the maiden, whose hand is whose? Why is one hand turned the wrong way? The man clasps his belt. The older woman touches his thigh and seems to dominate him with a hand to the shoulder. Her face is green (envy?) and she wears a laurel of victory. The man and older woman lock eyes. The maiden doesn\u2019t. The meanings behind these dynamics are up the the reader. Above the angel Raphael motions downward to these three aspects. Their composition mimics the first three emanations of God according to Cabalic cosmology. The Sun behind Raphael takes action through his materialized form and sends an arrow of cosmic breath to the lower plane where the superconsciousness is split into \u00a0polarized older and younger women. Some believe the women stand for Virtue and Vice, Past and Future, complementary opposites etc&#8230; Perhaps the man represents the wisdom attained through synthesis. He stands in the middle like the sefirot Da\u2019at; accumulating knowledge to make a choice. This choice could bring him back up the mountain behind him to meet his creator.
