I took a long time to get working on this for some reason. I think my brain was starting to feel a bit like it was getting hot poker-ed by anything not totally grounded in material reality. I was listening to too many occult and conspiracy podcasts that were creating an internal war with my daily exposure to internet outrage and the dehumanizing political\/clickbait headlines of the Official Narrative seeping through my Instagram feed. I just wanted to watch dumb comedies and youtube videos about crushing stuff in a hydrolic press for a while. So I unsubscribed from occult and conspiracy podcasts and I unfollowed everyone on Instagram. Now I feel clear enough to think mystically again, and less at war with narrow-field-of-vision materialists. <\/p>\n

So let’s get into wands. My first wave of research isn’t bearing quite as much fruit as I’d like. I might have to do a little more intuitive thinking, but maybe that’s fine. If anyone has links to valuable information on wands, please send them my way. <\/p>\n

One tangent I’d like to address, which is not super important but interesting is Paul Huson’s theory about the tarot and playing card suit associations. I think most people assume the following: Coins = Diamonds, Wands = Clubs, Cups = Hearts, Swords = Spades. Paul Huson believes: Wands = Diamonds, Coins = Clubs, Cups = Hearts, Swords = Spades. His theory comes from the clover leaf pattern found in Italian tarot coins and the diamond shape that emerges between interlacing wands. <\/p>\n

In this Visconti-Sforza 10 of wands from the mid 1400’s we see the image of diamonds emerge from the interlacing rods as Paul describes, but also cloverleafs in the negative space, so basically I think his theory is bullshit. Nothing against Paul Huson. His book has been immensely helpful in my research. <\/p>\n
