My brother and I submitted a 3 page outline of the Alone pilot early last month and we’ve not heard a peep back from the production house. They’re not responding to emails. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’re super busy but it seems like maybe they’ve lost interest in the project? I don’t know. The thing we submitted definitely didn’t have that “writer” vibe that’s typical of late night cartoons. Rather it sits somewhere in that realm of too adult for kids, but not-similar-enough-to-Archer sensibility. I’m starting to suspect that the things I want to make are more conducive to a youtube audience. It’s the same problem that happened to Manly, where despite its reception on youtube, no production house wanted to adopt it. <\/p>\n
I had lunch with George Gendi yesterday (creator of a future CN show “Apple and Onion”) and we talked about me maybe doing some freelance work for him. We also talked about angels, demons and archons ;-). I’m sort of in a tight spot with money, despite the huge patreon support I get every month. It’s definitely at the point where I’ll need to supplement with some consistent freelance, but I was holding out for this Alone pilot to come through. I still have hope that they’ll reach out to us soon, but it’s seeming a bit unlikely at this point. Weird. <\/p>\n
