I just got back from the coffee shop with my metal folder of pages and pens. <\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/jessemoynihan.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_3641.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/jessemoynihan.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_3641.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3641\" width=\"620\" height=\"827\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3812\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jessemoynihan.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_3641.jpg 620w, http:\/\/jessemoynihan.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_3641-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Often there&#8217;s an assumption that the relationship between artist and executive is a strained, constipated affair. There are plenty of examples of terrible creative notes handed down from the people in charge, and I think these are the stories we generally remember. However, equally as often, there are notes that are really helpful, that force the writer to stay mentally agile.<\/p>\n<p>So far all the notes I&#8217;ve gotten from Cartoon Network have improved Smuggle Brothers quite dramatically. I&#8217;m extremely happy with how the board has shaped up. There are still one or two moments I want to tweak before my final pitch at the end of February, but yeah it&#8217;s sitting really well with me at the moment. <\/p>\n<p>The main emphasis of their notes were to keep clarifying the relationship between the brothers, and their goals as characters. Pulling this off while establishing stand alone plot mechanics, and broader world building details was really hard.
