There was a question in the comments about the sexual union being a temporary state and possibly negating some of the meaning of the Temperance card, however I&#8217;m not really thinking of this card as only a sexual union but as a call-back to the proto-human, angelic androgyne who will then initiate their descent into the realm of the Devil card (Key 15). In the Devil card you will see the now fallen angel as well as a mutation of the Lovers into imp-like creatures. The progression makes sense to me, but I can see where my somewhat liberal interpretation could have caused some compromises.
