I’m working out how to visually convey the idea of folding space. I have done little to no research on the topic. Just a vague memory of the idea presented to me at a young age. Did they fold space in A Wrinkle in Time? Anyway here’s where I’m at at the moment:<\/p>\n

It’s hard to show infinite space folding and closing a distance of astronomical light years. How do you show a Point B from the vantage point of Point A that’s so far away it can’t be seen and then show it coming in close? I guess ultimately the image will be more symbolic than literal. <\/p>\n

Also the process needs to happen fast enough that we can potentially do it in every episode without eating up a lot of screen time. <\/p>\n

I’m about 40 pages (out of a ballpark 70 pages total) into storyboarding the pilot and I’ve just introduced the plot. It’s not a good situation to be in. It probably means the board will go 30+ pages too long. 10 pages roughly = 1 minute. So that’s 3 minutes longer than the agreed 7 minute pilot length. <\/p>\n

Right now I’m just going ahead and writing the way I feel like writing it, without much concern for length or tone. I’m trying to write a pure piece that appeals to my sensibilities and tells a complete story about the world of Smuggle Brothers and what elements are at play. <\/p>\n

I am a little worried Rob Sorcher<\/a> will absolutely hate it. But I’ll worry about that more when I do my second pass, and try to whittle it down to its most vital components. Also I have to keep in mind that what people in charge of running a network think of my work is completely out of my power.
