I’ve been working on this all day. Thought I was gonna finish it, but I just ran out of gas. Gonna walk to my apartment now. <\/p>\n

I’m staying in this really neat guest house with a mother and son in the main house. The mom made cake today and I hung out with her son while he played drums and showed me some French comics. <\/p>\n

I’m really psyched about being here. I can work from 9\/10am until midnight and no one is trying to get me to do anything else. It feels really good, like this way of being is my natural state. I don’t think it’s how I always want to be… like, for example I really dig certain types of collaboration and having friendships etc… But it’s a nice break from the normal tension between obligation toward others and my work. Here, I can be completely immersed in doing my thing, and not feel pressured by other people’s expectations of me. <\/p>\n

This compulsion to be making things all the time is something I feel heavy guilt about. The amount of time it takes away from relationships has basically ruined every relationship save for maybe two that I can recall. Here I’m given the environment to act my natural way, guilt free, without consulting anyone about what I’m doing or where I’ll be at and when. It’s great.
