I arrived in Angoul\u00eame yesterday at 5, took a tour of the studio, met my temporary roommate and went to sleep. I set up my studio this morning and walked around town looking for food and coffee.<\/p>\n

I still need to find some adapter plugs for my various U.S. plugs and my airbrush. Until then I can’t color anything, so hopefully I can find one in the next day or so. I also need cleaning supplies for airbrush maintenance. I think I made Brigitte (the person in charge of the residency) nervous when I asked her where I could find a respirator for painting. I guess my studio isn’t set up to handle fumes? I dunno. It’s my fantasy to sound like H.R. Giger someday. <\/p>\n

I’m across the hall from Jessica Abel, who’s put out several books with Fantagraphics and Pantheon. I haven’t met her yet. I don’t know anyone else in the building, but I guess there’s something like 25 residents at the moment.I said hi to a few folks last night, but I guess I’ll get a better intro later today. It feels sort of like I’m in college?<\/p>\n

I don’t know any French, but I managed to buy a quiche and a coffee and bathroom supplies. <\/p>\n

I also sent an Instagram message to Alejandro Jodorowsky’s wife Pascale to see if I could meet with him and talk about Tarot. I figure if Kanye can request an audience, I can as well? Worth a shot, right? If anyone who reads this has in’s with Jodorowsky, could you pull some strings for me?? <\/p>\n

\nI had to order a $75 transformer to convert the European voltage to my U.S. air compressor. I think I almost blew the motor on this thing. It was giving off a smell before I realized I had almost destroyed it. So hopefully it’s okay and not fucked. I should be getting the transformer in 2 days. Meanwhile I’m just gonna pencil pages.<\/p>\n
