I drew this while having a veggie sandwich across the street and then I tested out some watercolors. I think I figured out how to manage the space. I still have to figure out the details of the objects on the table. I drew the dice while referencing Jodorowsky’s version without cross referencing it. I came home and looked through some other Marseille images and no dice are to be seen. However, Jodorowsky makes such a good case for it, I believe I will keep them, especially since the idea of gambling is inherent in many other scholar’s descriptions of the card. <\/p>\n

I really emphasized the birth canal and female form. I incorporated the vagina into the design of the table. I may tweak this a little bit. This composition was inspired by yesterday’s research as well as attending a virtual reality party where I tried out a beta 3d drawing program where you can literally walk around your drawing. It was pretty transcendent. In that moment I thought to experiment with this Tarot image, and create a cosmic mother from which the Magician simultaneously emerges and protects. <\/p>\n

So anyway I tried to really push that idea in this image, because it felt really powerful to me. <\/p>\n

The issue of the table going out of frame is a slight issue that I decided to solve with a sort of spiritual projection of the table continuing to the right (with the color blue). I am going to meditate on this some more. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
