I really enjoyed finding that, thanks for sharing. I’m in a similar situation. I had a falling out with someone in college I still consider, for better or worse, to be one of the most important people to have entered my life. While I don’t think our friendship will ever mend (2yrs now without speaking), it’s still meaningful to me. I keep old texts, but it doesn’t make me sad.

I loved Sky Witch, cause it was just good storytelling. And it had that rare mix of sad and sweet; beautifully sad ending. Like “I remember you.” S.W.’s one of the best episodes, period.

While I think it would be adorable if they were a couple, for my own selfish reasons I kinda want them to be just friends. I’m an aspiring screenwriter and tend to talk about the difficulties in a platonic relationship as a theme often. People don’t realize how complicated and difficult they can be. I’d say it’s much harder to keep alive than a romantic relationship. There’s so much storytelling material in friendship because its so multifaceted and complicated. And I love complicated characters. I love Marceline’s backstory, and that “I’m just your problem” song, damn, hits a lil too close to home.

I’ve never contributed to an online discussion before, but I was just glad to see that post of yours…. and I love this show.

I can’t imagine what life will be like without Adventure Time, or how they’ll ever make a finale that will truly tie everything together — but then, I never imagined that Adventure Time would ever exist in the first place, nor that it would be one of my top 10 favourite works of fiction in history. Life’s too short to fear the end of Adventure Time, whenever it comes. Just enjoy it while it’s here.

grades in high school they felt it wouldn’t work out… so sorry for leting you down for saying that i would send my final project because as of now i wont be able to….

i have to say this episode threw me off
i saw great elements andaction between two characters that dont get enough screen time well mostly marceline
but idk some moments just stopped the flow and seemed too random
im probably just being critical but it just felt different

Thing is, it IS different. And that’s a good thing! These characters haven’t interacted for 2 seasons, and even then, they only ever interacted briefly and tersely in the past. Sure, we haven’t yet seen what’s really going on between them, and I can only assume that’s for another time. But we finally got something, at least.

Personally, I think the episode flowed pretty well and was enjoyable. I think a lot of the criticisms it received were excessive or simply unwarranted. Yeah, it’s not perfect, but it’s good.

Now to wait and see what it was setting up for!

another challenge for this episode was that jesse and ako were writing these characters showing completely new personality traits we haven’t seen before, or if we have we haven’t seen much of.

episodes with good character development tend to have poorer pacing because they require lots of dialogue in single scenes, i notice.

episodes with good development AND good pacing tend to lack a lot of comedy.

Jesse, a question for you – who worked on Time Sandwich? Was it you and Ako? Because Magic Man – and magical themes in general – seems like something thats definitely gonna contain you two’s work.
